OUR Story

COME TOGETHER RIGHT NOW

Welcome to The U-Turn—where great food, good vibes, and supporting local come together.

Our journey began with a simple idea: build something that brings people together. Inspired by the spirit of community and local land, we opened Strathcona County’s first locally sourced restaurant. Rooted in the principles of sustainability, quality, and community, our restaurant aims to provide our guests with an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond taste. Celebrating the freshest local ingredients and fostering a connection between farmers, producers, and consumers by offering a daily variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items,  with brunch on Sundays. So, why the name The U-Turn? Because sometimes the best experiences happen when you take a different route—slow down, come together, and experience something real.

MEET CHEF ANDREW

With over 20 years of culinary experience, Chef Andrew has built a career defined by innovation, leadership, and excellence. After honing his craft at NAIT, he worked at Australia’s five-star Sheraton Grande Mirage transforming a modest café into an acclaimed oceanfront fine dining destination. Returning to Canada, he launched Jacek Catering, serving high-profile clients, including NHL stars, where he later joined NAIT as a sous chef, leading their culinary programs and large-scale events.
Following his passions, his next venture found him as executive chef and co-owner of the Okanagan Beach Club where chef helped revitalize the venue into an unforgettable dining experience.

Now, as executive chef of the The U-Turn, he continues to push culinary boundaries, blending artistry, flavour, and unforgettable hospitality.
